Euro Defence Expo is scheduled at Messe Essen for 22-25 September. The organiser’s advance announcement describes more than 270 exhibitors across eleven product categories. That is an announced exhibition portfolio, not a count of completed meetings or orders.
The event will run alongside Security Essen. This creates a relevant setting for companies serving both civil-security and defence customers, although attendance at parallel events and specialist sessions may involve different access arrangements.
The June programme update highlighted industrial manufacturing, logistics and support, CBRN defence, unmanned systems, communications and software. For smaller suppliers, the manufacturing and support categories may be as relevant as complete platforms.
Beyond the stand display
The published programme includes an International Diplomatic Forum on 23 September, aimed at embassies and consulates. The organiser also lists specialist conference and matchmaking formats. A general exhibition ticket should not be assumed to grant access to every restricted meeting.
Joint stands include regional and industrial organisations. Our reading is that these can help identify manufacturing partners and supply-chain relationships, particularly where a company offers a process or component rather than a complete defence product.
How to prepare
Start with the current exhibitor directory and the programme relevant to your sector. Confirm the access rules for any parallel conference before arranging a meeting around it. The official website links to tickets and visitor information.
For Polish and Ukrainian businesses, a useful pitch should identify the intended integration, production capacity and support responsibilities. The breadth of the exhibition is an opportunity to find the right type of partner, but it does not mean every exhibitor buys the same technology.
