DUAL IMPACT in Łódź: supply chains and finance; registration closed

DUAL IMPACT takes place on 14-15 September at Fabryka Grohmana, the Łódź Special Economic Zone headquarters at Tymienieckiego 22G. The official website checked on 13 September says registration is closed. Attendance should not be assumed without confirmation.
The programme separates business and local-government needs, covering industrial partnerships, finance and infrastructure resilience. The second day is dedicated to business meetings.
For companies, the substantive question is how a civilian capability becomes part of a real order. Calling a technology dual-use does not identify its customer, requirements or financing.
A supplier needs a role within a larger system
The programme connects supply-chain entry with manufacturers’ needs. An electronics, software or materials supplier has a different conversation from a vendor offering a complete end product. It needs to explain the integrator’s problem it solves and the evidence supporting its component.
JRC’s work on dual-use regions identifies weak links between civil innovation and defence planning, alongside a shortage of integrators and limited SME market access. The forum can help companies understand those relationships, but a large manufacturer appearing in the programme does not establish an open order for participants.
Finance follows the development stage
Research grants, expansion equity and procurement contracts meet different needs. EDF 2026 separates research and development and requires defined collaboration and results. A financing conversation should start with whether the company needs to mature technology, establish production or sell an existing product.
Our recommendation is a short account of the current product version, verified tests, missing partner and next milestone. A specific dependency, such as access to a validation facility, tells a prospective partner more than a broad expression of interest in defence.
Local authorities are a different customer
Local resilience also concerns continuity of services, energy, communications and emergency capability. JRC describes regional administrations as connecting industry, research and levels of government. This broadens the dual-use discussion beyond military procurement.
A public-authority offer needs to address operation, maintenance and responsibility for data. A demonstration alone may leave those questions unanswered. The official link below provides the current agenda and organiser contact; it does not establish that registration has reopened.
