ScreenTech’s Maksym Kostenko gave MSSG a specific answer about supply-chain needs at MSPO: the team was seeking alternatives to Chinese suppliers of cameras, motors and propellers. The interview was first published in our supplier film on 11 September.

This is more useful to a potential partner than a general invitation to cooperate. It identifies component families around which a technical conversation could be organised. It does not establish a purchase order, a procurement budget or a completed qualification process.

The distinction is particularly important for European manufacturers considering Ukrainian customers. Interest in a different source is a starting point. It is not proof that an existing catalogue product fits the customer’s platform without changes.

From a component category to a specification

Our analysis is that the next conversation needs an agreed specification and a defined configuration. Compatibility with the rest of the product, repeatability between batches and the effect of a substitution on support all matter alongside the origin of the component.

A supplier cannot infer the required performance simply from the words camera or motor. Nor should a publication invent those requirements where the interview did not provide them. The value of the reported statement is the named area of interest, not a hidden technical tender.

Responsibility after substitution

Changing a component can change the final product and the evidence supporting it. The parties need to agree who evaluates the replacement and which documentation describes the delivered version. A different source address is not by itself proof of equivalent behaviour.

Commercial terms also need clarification: available quantities, delivery commitments, support and continuity of supply. These are our suggested follow-up subjects, not conditions Kostenko announced or a claim that ScreenTech has already accepted a particular European supplier.

What the original interview supports

The embedded video contains the source conversation in the wider MSPO supplier report. This focused article explains the industrial relevance of the sourcing need. MSSG has not audited ScreenTech’s supply chain or independently qualified a replacement component.

For a prospective partner, the useful response is a narrowly matched offer and a request to confirm the actual specification. Sending an entire catalogue without establishing fit leaves the main engineering question unanswered.
