The week of 5-11 October brings three industrial conversations into focus: space systems, defence capability and biomedical research. IAC and the European Space Power Conference run in parallel, while Rome, Bordeaux, Warsaw and Kyiv host meetings relevant to suppliers and research partners. We checked organiser and institutional pages on 4 October.

The urgent item is BioGENext in Kyiv, 6-9 October, with an online option and English-language lectures. Virtual registration closes on Monday, 5 October. The in-person registration deadline was 28 September, so we are not presenting it as still open. The programme covers next-generation therapies, diagnostics, computational biology and technology transfer.

A displayed registration button is not a guarantee of remaining capacity. Where admission deadlines have passed, we state that explicitly. All dates below belong to the coming Monday-Sunday week; later events are kept out of this calendar.

Space and advanced manufacturing: 5-9 October

The International Astronautical Congress takes place in Antalya on 5-9 October. ESPC runs on the same dates in Estoril, Portugal, covering power management, solar generation, energy storage and nuclear power for space applications. The meetings serve different conversations: broad research and industry at IAC, specialised subsystem work at ESPC.

Ukraine’s WRT 2026 meeting runs in Zakarpattia on 5-9 October, with materials, welding and joining topics in the published programme. The organiser lists online attendance without paper publication at EUR 0. Defence Aviation Safety in London on 5-6 October covers military aviation safety and the integration of crewed and uncrewed systems.

MSSG.news groups the week’s meetings by useful industrial conversation. It does not imply participation, endorsement or event outcomes.

Defence, drones and industrial operations

GSOF Symposium Europe runs in Rome on 6-8 October. DEFSEC Atlantic in Halifax runs on the same dates and describes an active B2B meeting platform. Land Forces takes place in Perth on 6-8 October; visitor registration is closed. These meetings bring users and suppliers together around capability needs.

UAV Show’s Bordeaux exhibition is on 7-8 October, followed by a separate Demo Day at Mérignac Airport on 9 October. In Poland, InSec in Warsaw on 7 October covers border security, modernisation and SAFE. UDT’s industrial safety conference in Słok runs on 7-8 October; its published 25 September registration deadline has passed.

Medtech and the Sunday funding milestone

Alongside BioGENext, the European Medical Device and Diagnostic PMS and Vigilance Conference runs in Amsterdam on 6-8 October in hybrid format. Its relevance is the continuing work of monitoring devices after market placement, a different task from biomedical research translation.

The BraveTech EU call for local organisers closes on 11 October. It concerns organisers of March 2027 DefTech Forges, not a general grant application by any defence startup. Our existing explainer sets out that route. The Commission’s overview states the closing date but not an exact closing hour; applicants should consult the linked form.
