WB and Kongsberg put maritime integration at the centre of their MSPO agreement
The agreement covers unmanned maritime platforms and sensor integration. It identifies a development direction, rather than a delivered fleet.

WB Electronics and Kongsberg signed a maritime cooperation agreement at MSPO on 8 September. WB’s announcement identifies unmanned platforms, multisensor reconnaissance and integration with command systems as areas of work.
The companies envisage combining imaging and electronic reconnaissance with other maritime sensors. The announcement also allows for possible effectors. It does not give a contract value, delivery schedule or a named customer order.
This report revisits the announcement from the exhibition. Its place in our MSPO chronology follows the event date.
The integration task behind the platform
Our assessment is that the consequential part is how information moves between the vessel, its payloads and the user’s command system. A hull can be displayed at a fair; demonstrating a reliable, maintainable combination is a different industrial task.
For a specialist supplier, the interface matters: what information the payload provides, how it is passed to the operator and which company accepts the integrated result. Those details cannot be inferred from a cooperation announcement.

What the announcement leaves open
A collaboration can define a direction without settling workshare, serial quantities or responsibility for support. Readers should distinguish those future commercial decisions from the agreement already signed. The publicly available announcement is not evidence that a combined system has completed acceptance trials.
Where the industrial opportunity lies
The most useful follow-up will be evidence of an agreed configuration and a development milestone. Until then, the story is about the partners bringing complementary capabilities into a maritime project. Component makers should frame any approach around a specific integration need rather than assume that the agreement is an open supplier call.
